Last week the Centre for Economic Transformation (CET) of the University of Applied Sciences was launched. The CET wants to contribute to accelerating the transformation to a sustainable, inclusive, fair economy and play a guiding role in this by bringing parties together and discovering together what works and what doesn’t. The CET is platform where new ideas about economics take shape in practice-based research and education. Students, teachers and researchers work together with the business community, civil society organizations and governments on economic issues that affect society, both nationally and internationally. The appointment of Kate Raworth (author of The Doughnut Economy) as HvA Professor of Practice is a huge boost to this course.
Redesigning business
CET has opted for a clear focus: re-designing business. In doing so, the center focuses on four major transformations: the digital transformation, the transformation to work, the transformation to sustainability and circularity, and the energy transformation. Ongoing research and existing research labs and units are CET’s knowledge providers.
The Centre for Market Insights is one of the research centers associated with the CET. From the Centre for Market Insights, we aim to contribute to the digital transformation of business, using digital technologies and data through research, knowledge exchange and education. We conduct research into the digital maturity of companies and provide training to increase their skills and knowledge in the field of digitization. Furthermore, we concretely help them with the digital transformation process by testing digital innovations on site, further in cooperation with technology partners.
In honor of the launch of the CET, a special booklet has been developed. Economic Transformation TO GO! This booklet can be downloaded from the CET website, where further detailed information about the Centre can be found.
